Katie’s Kraving Review:
If there was a white varietal that could convince me to cheat on my main squeeze, Grenache, Chenin Blanc* would be it.
Headed to a party and your only guidance is “bring a bottle of white?” This is it!
Winemakers don’t kill me for this: This baby is like the perfect mix of Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. It has something for everyone! Salty, briny, textured, some Meyer lemon, a touch of lime zest, oyster shells (yes, you read that right), he is practically screaming “take me to the ocean now!”
From the first sip, I immediately wanted to grab the bottle, jump in my car, and head to the Pacific Northwest (only because it’s closer to me than Boston). I’m seeing a romantic picnic on the sand at a byob seafood joint on the water. The chilly evening requires classic New England style fashion: chinos, boat shoes, and a sweater.
Curl up with your best friend, life partner, or lover and slowly make your way through a couple dozen oysters and at least one (1) bottle of this Chenin.
After that, who knows? The world is your oyster A stroll on the beach, another round of oysters, or a ride on the Ferris wheel. It is up to you.
Choose your own adventure lovers, embrace it with everything you have, and this baby won’t let you down.
*And Riesling. Definitely Riesling.
Cheers friends! And don’t forget to #SipAwhile
Shoe:
Sailor Rum Boat Shoe for the wine here homies (link): Is there anything more classic than a boat shoe on the rocky shores of the beaches of Seattle? Well maybe: couple that with a quirky, whimsical sweater over a popped Oxford collar blouse and neatly pressed khakis and you are literally speaking this baby’s love language.
Personality:
Consistent. Spontaneous. Consistently spontaneous. Spontaneously consistent. Live in the moment and be open to adventure.
