ALL THE GRENACHE!!! #areyoushocked
If you’re sensing a bit of a pattern here, you would be correct. I can’t stop, won’t stop. My love affair with Grenache is borderline is obsessive, a touch insane, and 100% delicious. I make no apologies for this and send my many thanks to the OCD wine growers who make sure our Grenache supplies never run dry! #ThanktheGrenacheGods
Katie’s Kraving Review
A walking contradiction: he’s the man who looks like he’s gonna be a total prick but turns out to be a total gentleman – holds the door for everyone, says “yes ma’am,” and calls his mom almost every day. He has a “Don’t-Worry-About-a-thing”-Bob-Marley attitude and holds a degree in Finance.
Groovy, chill, fun, a bit cerebral – he started his Masters in Viticultural Economics but got distracted by the apricot orchards on the property so to took the obvious, and obviously logical, next step and moved into a tree house (you know, to get closer to nature).
Apricots, peach blossoms, “sour” rind notes, a bit earthy, there’s a touch of sweet on the nose but then it’s bonefuckingdry – and it all works in perfect harmony! What the what?! Think you don’t like orange wine? Think again my friend. Step away from the rose and take this baby for a test drive! Your taste buds will thank you and you’ll fo sho be coming back for more. If you don’t, I’ll eat my hat.
Honestly, it’s so damn weird yet still freaking tasty. It’s like the grapes were abducted by aliens, but cool ones, who ran their crazy experiments on these fresh-picked babies and then generously sent this kickin’ juice back to earth for us mere homo sapiens to crush (and give us a glimpse into their juice universe.)
Le Cigare Orange is “out of this world” (please tell me you get it)
Shoe:
Well-loved boat shoe: perfect for a casual day at the office followed by a lazy afternoon reading about micro-investing in your treehouse (and, obviously, strolling through apricot orchards – because what day is complete without that?!?!)
Grapes & Vineyards:
40% Grenache Gris (Loma Del Rio Vineyard)
40% Grenache Blanc (Beeswax Vineyard)
10% Grenache pink (Sweetwater Vineyard)
10% Orange Muscat (Pear Valley Vineyard)
Region: Central Coast, CA
ABV: 10.5%
Vinification & Aging: The grapes are destemmed, then a 4-5 day cold soak on the skins in the rotary fermenter, followed by fermentation on the skins to dryness. Then another 8-10 days on the skins before being pressed to stainless steel tanks. The wine is kept very cold with no sulfur added until bottling, and then very low amounts.

Pairings:
Fromager d’Affinois or Cremeux d’ Bourgogne – triple crème amazingness. all the way baby. Mushy, gooshy, earthy. Spread that white deliciousness on a baguette, take a swing of Le Cigare Volant Orange, and get ready for your trip to the alien spaceship.
Cheers friends! And don’t forget to #SipAwhile
